EchoIMPACT

Modern echosounders increasingly provide the capability to log the full digital echo from the seabed, not simply the depth. This digital information can be processed for seabed classification. The data from some of these echosounders can be read directly into QTC IMPACT. A list of supported echosounders can be found here.

Why do I need EchoIMPACT?

There are many other digital echosounders, not directly supported by QTC IMPACT, that record digital echoes. Many of these echosounders are supported in echoview from Myriax.

Using Myriax's EchoIMPACT Export Module the data are exported to a format which can be read by EchoIMPACT, which processes the data in exactly the same way as QTC IMPACT.

Echoview supports the following echosounders:

• Precision Acoustic Systems PAS-103 Single-beam and PAS-103 Split-beam echosounder
• Simrad EK60, EQ60, ES60, EY60, EK500, EA500, EY500, EA600, and EA400 echosounder
• SonarData EchoListener

If your echosounder is analogue, or only provides digital depth information, you will need to add a QTC VIEW system to acquire proper digital data for classification with QTC IMPACT.
