Frequently Asked Questions

QTC CLAMS™

  1. Why do I need QTC CLAMS? Why doesn't a regular interpolation calcuation work?
  2. What are node spacing, search radius and search size?

A 1. Regular interpolation would create classes that are not integers. There is no such thing as class 1.7. Also, it woulc create classes that do not exist. Regular interpolation assumes that there is class 2 between class 1 and class 3. In seabed classification results, this usually is not the case.

QTC CLAMS performs categorical interpolation which uses only integers and does not create artificial classes.

A 2. The following image defines some of the terminology used in QTC CLAMS .
