As Quester Tangent continues to grow, we are looking for ways to continuously expand our manufacturing capability and capacity. Recently, we installed several key pieces of equipment in the manufacturing area that further enhance our delivery of the high-reliability electronics required for the demanding passenger rail environment.
9 Zone Reflow Oven – Our new soldering oven has more heating stages, offering a higher level of process reliability for circuit board soldering with more control over the temperature ramp. This helps save sensitive modern components from early mortality due to heat shock.
Automated Optical Inspection – This helps us more efficiently ensure that completed printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) have all components installed in the correct orientation and location.
PCBA X-Ray Inspection – This machine is designed to inspect components that cannot be seen with optical inspectors, such as high-density, ball grid array (BGA) integrated circuits common in modern electronic designs. While saving space on the circuit board, these components require the additional capability of X-ray to see poor solder joints that cannot be detected otherwise.
Investing in these types of upgrades helps us address the needs of transit authorities, operators, and train builders by further strengthening our manufacturing capabilities and, in turn, boosting high-quality production throughput.
