Your Role:

At Quester Tangent, we are committed to excellence and innovation in engineering. As a Project Engineer within our Engineering Services Group, you will be responsible for the technical planning and execution of our contracts. Working in partnership with a Project Manager, you will assume leadership for all technical aspects of a project, including effort estimation, task assignment, process tracking, documentation consumption and creation, requirements management, leading client technical discussions, presenting at design reviews, and tracking and reporting. Furthermore, as the technical project lead, you will represent the company in meetings with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders, focusing on design details and project integration tactics. The successful candidate, equipped with extensive training and experience, will be entrusted with responsibilities that match your expertise, and for those at an intermediate level, we offer dedicated mentorship and development opportunities to fully prepare you for your role.

How you will spend your time:

  • Ensure the successful completion of engineering product development and delivery projects.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and scopes.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate the technical aspects of projects.
  • Develop, specify, and monitor Engineering Work Orders.
  • Coordinate, prepare, review, and approve engineering deliverables, such as technical publications, documentation, drawings, testing, and requirements management.
  • Ensure effective internal and client communications, focusing on maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Oversee project plans by reviewing design specifications, plans, schedule changes, and recommending actions.
  • Maintain project schedules by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving issues.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • PMP certification or other project management training is preferred.
  • Ability to work with technical teams to create innovative, yet maintainable solutions.
  • Effective strategic communication skills and the ability to intake and summarize complex technical information.
  • Strong, organized self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment and with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to travel is a requirement of this position as individuals must hold a valid passport and authorization to travel to our customer’s locations (primarily within Canada and the United States).​

Experiences that will help you thrive:

  • Experience with managing technical projects and supervising multi-disciplinary technical teams.
  • Project-based technical management and/or team lead experience, particularly in high-tech software and/or electronics fields.
  • PMP certification or other project management training.
  • Experience with team building and change management methods.
  • Experience with the implementation or definition of cybersecurity strategies, as well as other networking or Information Technology.
