Stephen McKay

President & CEO

Stephen has been with Quester Tangent since 1992. His unique vision and in-depth knowledge of both technology and the rail transit market has helped secure Quester Tangent’s place in a highly competitive industry. Stephen has developed a solid business plan and implemented business processes recognized as equivalent to those of Fortune 500 organizations. Under Stephen’s leadership, Quester Tangent has achieved rapid growth, becoming a one-stop shop for train electronics and software solutions in North America. When not working, Stephen turns to athletics and can be spotted kicking a ball in the local soccer league.

Joe Supple

Chief Information Officer

Joe has been developing and implementing IT initiatives at Quester Tangent since 2009. His passion for technology allowed him to consult at various companies in London and Amsterdam, including De Telegraaf, Time, and Barclays Bank. In 1986, Joe launched Systems Support Group, where he developed security software and consulted for the Canadian DND and NASA, to name a few. Joe’s impressive portfolio includes the first software to provide online administration of IBM’s security system. Joe has also a passion for Irish dance and music along with enjoying the serenity of his garden.

KD Singh

Director of Operations

KD has been leading Quester Tangent’s manufacturing operations since 2008. Today, KD is Director of Operations and oversees the company’s operations in the areas of Engineering, Contracts, Program / Project management, Production, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Customer Service, Plant Operations & Maintenance. With over 30 years of experience working for high-tech companies in North America and Asia, KD grew his career holding Engineering and Operations management roles through experience in working for global corporations such as Micron, Honeywell, Technetics, Excelitas and Perkin Elmer Optoelectronics. His diverse experience includes deploying best in class knowledge in Manufacturing/ Engineering operations and continuous process improvement methodologies. KD’s rich experience includes sustaining and developing innovative technologies and manufacturing products such as semiconductors, optoelectronics – Detectors/Emitters, industrial OEM electronics manufacturing, aerospace electronics, biomedical sensing, and lighting product streams. KD holds MS, MBA with executive management specialization in Supply Chain strategy and management from MIT. He is also ISO 9000 certified auditor and an experienced and certified Six-Sigma black belt. KD is an avid sportsman and an active Masters Field hockey player and plays for the Canadian National team.

Daniel Cumming

Director of Sales & Marketing

Dan joined Quester Tangent as Director of Sales & Marketing in 2013, enthusiastically applying his technical expertise and passion for customers and business development. Dan held several roles during his career, from R&D, project management, and operations management to sales and marketing. Prior to Quester Tangent, Dan was responsible for the global marketing strategy and growth of utility metering products at Schneider Electric. Dan’s musical talents are surpassed only by his ability to catch any kind of fish.

Ryan Smith

AD Operations

Ryan’s big-picture thinking and considerable experience managing multi-disciplinary technical teams have contributed to his impressive leadership record at Quester Tangent. Since 2009, Ryan has been involved in the day-to-day operational aspects of delivering rail transit projects and products to various clients. Ryan has developed, managed, and nurtured effective teams in diverse industries including marine, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing. When not at work, Ryan can be found on his boat with his family cruising the coast of British Columbia.

Shelley Carlson

Sr. Human Resources Manager

Quester Tangent welcomed Shelley to the management team in November of 2019. As a Certified Human Resources Professional (CPHR) with more than 11 years’ experience within the hi-tech and manufacturing industries, Shelley thrives when collaborating with teams to improve organizational performance, profitability and the employee experience. Prior to joining Quester Tangent, Shelley enjoyed providing management and HR support to global teams in North America, Europe and Asia. Shelley is actively involved with regional groups dedicated to tackling labour market issues such as diversity & inclusion, affordable workforce housing, and the shortage of skilled workers. When Shelley is not at work, you may spot her hiking a local trail, backcountry camping or exploring the historical and cultural wonders of the world.
